Main parts of CNC Lathe
Input Devices
Input Devices are tools used to enter part program on CNC Lathe.
Punch tape reader, magnetic tape reader and computers.
Machine Control Unit (MCU)
It is one of the most important parts of CNC Machine. In this part, all control actions of the machine take place.
In the MCU, the coded instructions for the machine are read. The instruction code is decoded. Axis executes instructions with linear and circular motions.
Axis transfers commands to amplifier circuits.
Each drive axis receives position, speed, feedback signals.
Auxiliary control functions such as coolant, spindle opening and closing are applied here.
Machine Tool
CNC machine has sliding table and spindle to control speed, position. The table is controlled in the X and Y axis direction. In the Z axis, the spindle is controlled.
Driving System
The Drive System consists of amplifier circuits, motors and screws. The MCU feeds the signals from the axes to the amplifier circuits. The motors turn the screws to move the machine table.
Feedback System
This system acts as a sensor. It also acts as a measuring system at the same time. There are transducers that monitor the position and speed of the cutting tool. MCU receives signals from here and uses them to correct position and speed errors.
Imaging Units
The monitor is used to display the commands of the CNC Lathe.
